Eligibility Criteria / Conditions:
Educational Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized University / Board with:-
(i) Two years work experience in respective trades;
OR (ii) One year certificate course from Industrial Training Institute of Vocational Institute with at least one year experience in the trade;
OR (iii) Two years Diploma from Industrial Training Institute in the trade or similar trade.

Physical Standard:
For Male Candidates:
(i) Scheduled Tribes/Adivasis of all States and Union Territories including Nagas and Mizos:
Height: 162.5 Cms
Chest: 76-81 Cms
Weight: Proportionate to height as per medical standard

(ii) Men belonging to the categories of Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to the States of Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir, Leh & Ladakh regions of Jammu and Kashmir:
♦ Height: 165 Cms
♦ Chest: 78-83 Cms
♦ Weight: Proportionate to height as per medical standard

(iii) All others States and Union Territories:
♦ Height: 167.5 Cms
♦ Chest: 78-83 Cms
♦ Weight: Proportionate to height as per medical standard

For Female Candidates:

Medical Standard:
(i) Visual Standard: The visual standard of candidates will be examined as per revised uniform medical guidelines issued by MHA vide UO No. A.VI-1/2014-Rectt(SSB) dated 20.05.2015 as amended from time to time.

(ii) The candidates must not have knock knees, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes. They must be in good mental and physical health for duties in all places including in high altitude and fit to serve border areas with extreme climatic conditions and must be free from any defect likely to interfere with efficient performance of the duties.

Age Limit: Between 18 to 23 years as on 01.08.2021. Relaxation in respect of the candidates for SC/ST/OBC category and other special categories of personnel in accordance with the instructions issued by Central Govt. From time to time.

Pay Scale: Level-3, Pay scale Rs.21,700-69,100/- of 7th CPC and other allowances as admissible to Central Govt. employees from time to time.

Method of Selection: The selection method will include:-
(A) First Phase of Examination which includes (a) Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and (b) Trade Test
(B) Second First Phase of Examination which includes Written Examination for 100 marks
(C) Third First Phase of Examination which includes (a) Detailed Medical Examination and (b) Review Medical Examination.
Final Merit List: Post wise and category wise final merit list will be drawn separately in respect of each State / UT on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in the Written Examination.
