Engineering Services Examination is conducted annually for selection of officers for the engineering services that meet the technical and managerial functions in various fields of Engineering of the Government of India.
A nationwide competitive examination in India conducted by the UPSC for the civil services that meet technical and managerial functions of the Government of India.
It’s a four stage competitive examination conducted by UPSC known as Engineering Services Examination for recruitment to the different Indian Engineering Services.
Those candidates who pass the Stage-I: Preliminary Examination (Objective Papers) will appear in the Stage-II: Mains Examination (Conventional Papers). Then only those candidates qualifying at the Stage – I and Stage – II will be selected for Stage – III examination i. e Personality test.
Thus the marks secured by the candidates in the Stage-I (objective type papers) of the Engineering Services Examination should be added to the marks secured in the Stage-II (conventional type papers) of the examination and Stage-III (personality test) and accordingly, such marks secured by the candidates in Stage-I should also be counted for merit.
