NIOS Open Basic Education (OBE) Programme
The Open Basic Education (OBE) program was launched in June 1994 to provide primary and secondary education to newly illiterate adults. This is an equivalency program and as part of the OBE he offers three levels of training. Additionally, the program was expanded in 2000 to include children ages 6 to 14. Recognized by the Government of India as equivalent to formal schools for further education and employment (link to Government of India Gazette Circular).
A program that provides her three-level primary education to dropouts, newly illiterate children, and out-of-school learners through accredited institutions. Under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) government of India, the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) aims to provide basic education to every child, youth and adult in the country. The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) launched the Open Basic Education (OBE) program as an alternative education program comparable to the primary education program in the formal education system. The OBE program explores and leverages the potential of distance learning mode (DEM) to achieve the unattainable. NIOS’s foundational courses have been integrated into the Open Basic Education (OBE) program. There are separate OBE programs for children and adults. The OBE program is offered at his three levels.
Onboard equipment level A: equivalent to class I to III
Onboard equipment level B: equivalent to class IV-V
