Qualification: Passed 10th, good in singing and playing one instrument, with a music certificate or award.
Pay Scale: For 1st Year: 30,000/- | For 2nd Year: 33,000/- | For 3rd Year: 36,500/- | For 4th Year: 40,000/-

Reservation: There is reservation for different categories of candidates.

Age limit: 17.5 – 21 years
An unmarried candidate who must have born between 02 January 2004 and 02 January 2007 (both dates inclusive).
There is age relaxation in upper age limit for different categories of candidates.

Mode of Selection: The recruitment process will consist of Proficiency Test in Playing Musical Instruments, Written Test, Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Medical Examination and Documents verification.

Music ability: Candidates must have proficiency in playing any one instrument from list A or B.
List A: Concert Flute / Piccolo, Oboe, Clarinet in Eb / Bb, Saxophone in Eb / Bb, French Horn in F / Bb, Trumpet in Eb / C / Bb, Trombone in Bb / G, Baritone, Euphonium, Bass / Tuba in Eb / Bb
List B: Keyboard / Organ / Piano, Guitar (Acoustic / Lead / Bass), Violin, Viola, String Bass, Percussion / Drums (Acoustic / Electronic), All Indian Classical Instruments

Note: It is desirable that the candidates have proficiency in playing two instruments (one each from list A & B above)

Mandatory Medical Standards:

1. Height: Male: Minimum 162 cm. | Female: Minimum 152 cm (relaxation for North East, Uttarakhand: 147 cm, Lakshadweep: 150 cm).
2. Weight: Should be proportionate to height and age.
3. Chest: Male: 77 cm with 5 cm expansion. | Female: Minimum 5 cm expansion.
4. Hearing: Normal hearing; able to hear forced whisper at 6 metres separately by each ear.
5. Dental: Healthy gums, good teeth, minimum 14 dental points.
6. Vision: 6/12 each eye (correctable to 6/6); Hypermetropia +2.0D, Myopia -1D, Astigmatism ±0.5D; Colour Vision: CP-II.
7. Physical Fitness Test (PFT): 1.6 KM run – Male: within 7 mins | Female: within 8 mins;
   Male: 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups, 20 squats | Female: 10 sit-ups, 15 squats.
